Inspired by the beauty found in the understated, our collections of leather handbags are made to last a lifetime and not just a season.
Established in 2013 by designer Cathleen Nicol and based in the Scottish Highlands, our brand aesthetic straddles contemporary and heritage. The use of high-grade leathers from tanneries with sustainable practises, and luxury textiles from Scotland woven with attention to detail, clean lines and subtle branding are all key to our brand ethos.

SBCC
Launched by the Scottish Business Climate Collaboration in 2023, the Climate Action Hub exists to help small and medium sized Scottish Businesses acheive Net Zero. We take our commitments the environment seriously. We are proud to be one of just a handful of Scottish businesses to have achieved silver status with SBCC and we are working towards gold in 2024.
Leather
The leather we use on our bags comes from Italian tannery, Faeda, established in 1956. We work with this tannery due to their ongoing commitment to the environment, continually trying to improve how they produce their excellent quality leather. Packaging
Each C.Nicol bag comes in a handmade dustbag made from recycled textiles with a C.Nicol branded leather tab. We use fully recyclable DHL boxes to ship bags to customers and the bags are protected with biodegradable green bubble wrap. We do not use additional gift boxes as these add weight and cost, often aren't recyclable and most importantly, are usually discarded which creates uneccesary waste.

Renting fashion gives an unlimited number of people the opportunity to wear and return beautiful pieces that have been carefully made by designers and that might otherwise be sitting in a brand’s store or in someone’s cupboard. It also gives people the chance to rent an item they’ve been thinking about buying, to try it out so they can make sure it’s really what they want and what they’ll use. MY Wardrobe HQ gives new life to our samples and past season collections.
