It is eight years ago to the day that I travelled with my husband to New York after one of my designs was shortlisted from 1500 entries in the 'best resort bag' category at the Indi Handbag Designer Awards. I was so excited, so nervous and couldn't believe that my 'Pippa' maxi clutch bag had made it to an awards celebration in New York.
Looking back, winning the award was a great confidence booster whilst in the very early stages of starting my own business and brand - thank you Nancy Forman and Emily Blumenthal!
So much has happened since then. Lots of good things and some not so good - such is life and the nature of running a business. But I'm grateful for it all and look forward to the rest of this year and the years to come of growing my small but ambitious bag brand.
