As the first day of British summer time arrives (did you remember to change your clock?), this isn't the situation any of us expected.
Our awareness of how important seeing family and friends and the freedom of getting out suddenly becomes so much more acute. On once-daily walks we might notice things previously overlooked; the colour of certain plants, how some flowers we pass have blossomed from the previous day's walk.
I'm so thankful for the NHS and its doctors, nurses and support staff at this time and I remind myself that if I am feeling frustrated, it pales into insignificance compared to what these heroes are feeling every day. Self isolation is the only thing most of us can do to help turn the tide.
The need to seek positives has become so important to me and becoming a call handler for the local mutual aid/Here2Help group has brought a sense of teamwork and purpose to the last couple of weeks. There's probably a volunteer group in your local area and so if you are looking to fill some time and want to help, have a look on Facebook - being a friendly voice at the end of the phone for a vulnerable or elderly person can mean so much to them at a time like this.
We've been thinking about other small businesses close to us in the north of Scotland and each week we will feature one of these little brands that we love and share them with you. Find out more about Cairn Candle Co below.
As we navigate our own small business through this time, we are running a 30% off sale at the moment for those who may have been considering purchasing a bag from us.
Let's all try to stay safe, this difficult time will end.
Cairn Candle Co is a family business based in the Cairngorms National Park, drawing inspiration from nature and their beautiful surroundings.
Angie and Fergus Thom hand craft luxury soy candles from their croft outside Grantown-on-Spey.
Cairn Candle Co's packaging is plastic free and recyclable, the soy wax is 100% sustainable and product ingredients are free from animal cruelty.
They have also partnered with Trees For The Future to plant a tree in Sub-Saharan Africa for every candle sold.
